All Azerbaijani cities will join the protests to call the government to punish them who opened fire to the peaceful protest, also to ask officials to make their apology for discriminating Turks for over 80 years. They will ask for the freedom of speech and mother tongue in Azerbaijan.

Turkish Parliament Approves Electoral Reforms

Lawmakers on Sunday held a re-run of the vote, which the opposition again boycotted, once again preventing the AKP from establishing the necessary quorum.

The turmoil forced Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan to bring legislative elections forward to July 22 from November.

According to two opinion polls published Thurday, the AKP is still the most popular party, with a wide margin ahead of its rivals.

Blair to Step Down as Labour Party Leader; Hand Over Power June 27

Mr. Blair recounted some of his government’s successes, including Britain’s booming economy, improvements in health care, employment and social benefits. He also talked of foreign successes: intervention in the civil conflicts in Kosovo and Sierra Leone. He spoke of Britain’s part in the fight against terrorism, in toppling the Taleban in Afghanistan and in ousting Saddam Hussein from Iraq, although acknowledging Britain’s involvement in Iraq remains a deeply controversial issue.
