Mr. Leysanli’s letter and the ongoing preparations for the anniversary are collectively concrete evidence for (a) there is a unity of purpose among the nation of Southern Azerbaijan, rank-and-file activists and the leadership of the movement; and (b) the national consciousness of the nation of Southern Azerbaijan seeks its salvation through the body of human rights. Mr. Leysanli wisely envisages the difficult road ahead of us but he is confident that the prevailing perseverance has already established the character of our nation. He is also confident that the civilised world will not leave the Iranian authorities appeased.
