Foreign Minister: Azerbaijan is ready for talks over use of radar station by US

. “We stated that though Russia has rented Gabala radar station, any negotiations beyond Azerbaijan’s will are unacceptable as it is Azerbaijan’s property. Russia has appealed to Azerbaijan regarding this issue. Azerbaijan is ready for bilateral and trilateral debates on the issue,” the minister said.

Putin offers shared use of Azarbaijan by him and G.W. Bush

. Russia’s president has suggested that the US share a Russian-controlled radar in republic of Azarbaijan as part of an anti-missile shield that would protect all of Europe.

Vladimir Putin suggested in talks with his US counterpart on Thursday that he use a Russian radar system in Azerbaijan instead of basing US anti-missile hardware in central Europe.
