. National Movement of Azerbaijan is a movement based on demanding human rights. This Movement demands the recognition of our national identity and culture and the use of our mother language as official language for education in Iran. However, unfortunately, all actives of this Movement who are journalists, intellectuals and human rights actives have been arrested and tortured and sentenced to long imprisonments.

Actives and intellectuals of National Movement of Azerbaijan condemn all acts that degrade humanistic prestige of liberal persons. We also demand the release of Sa’id Matinpur, Jalil Qanilu, Behruz Safari and other Political Prisoners in Azerbaijan.

Korean officials meet Taliban

. The talks between two senior Taliban leaders and four negotiators in Ghazni on Friday was the first face-to-face meeting since the Koreans were kidnapped three weeks ago.

A Taliban spokesman told Al Jazeera that its officials had received a written guarantee from the Afghan government that they would not be arrested at the meeting.

. Some of detainees who are released recently tell about the condition of Mr. Kazemi which is not fine. He was beaten and was tortured physically and mentally almost every day. His cell mates say his health is in real danger.

Iranian Fars regime is trying to tie Azerbaijani movement to foreign countries like Republic of Azerbaijan, US or even Israel. Now, Mr. Kazemi and others are being tortured to confess that they are paid by those countries to make trouble inside Iran!

Vandal’s hammer attack on £1.7m Reynolds work

. A PAINTING worth £1.7 million by the British artist Sir Joshua Reynolds has been damaged by a hammer-wielding vandal at the National Portrait Gallery in London.

The portrait of Samuel Johnson had been on display behind glass in the top-floor public area. In the attack, which took place shortly after 5pm on Wednesday, it was smashed with a hammer which tore the canvas.
