Many dead in Algeria suicide attack

. At least 22 people are believed to have been killed and about 60 others wounded in a suicide car-bomb attack on a naval barracks in Algeria.

Security sources said the bomb went off on Saturday in the coastal town of Dellys, about 50km from the capital, Algiers.

Bush confuses Austria and Australia in latest gaffe

. The similarities in sounding between Australia and Austria led Bush into an embarrassing blunder down under.

The US president thanked Australian premier John Howard for visiting ‘Austrian troops’ in Iraq.

There are no Austrian troops there, although Australia has 1,500 military personnel in the region.
