Turkey lifts campus headscarf ban

. Turkey’s parliament has backed changes to the country’s constitution that will lift a decades-old ban on the wearing of headscarves in universities.

Tens of thousands of Turks took to the streets of the capital on Saturday to protest against the move, saying it threatened the secular nature of Turkish society.

Azerbaijan Parliament to set up task force to probe the lands lost throughout history

. Mr. Mahmudov added that the special commission will conduct a probe into the “fate” of lands which were taken away from Azerbaijan against its will and without any survey or referendum.

“It is a study group to be composed of well-known historians. We will examine Gulustan, Turkmenchar, Adirna Treaties, transfer of Armenians to Azeri lands on the basis of these treaties, and ceding of Irevan (Yervan) and other territories to Armenia etc.,” he added.
