Bill White, Mayor of Houston sent letter to Azerbaijani community of the city due to anniversary of January 20 tragedy, APA US Bureau reports.
The letter says over 130 innocent people were murdered in Baku at the night of January 19 to January 20, 1990 for destroying struggle of Azerbaijanis for freedom and independence. Mayor said that though Mikhail Gorbachov confessed that this step was mistake later stated that January 20 is one of the mournful days in Azerbaijani history.
