Vahid Mustafayev, President of ANS Group of Companies recommends to receive information from trenches.

On March 4 ceasefire between Armenia and Azerbaijan was broken in Tartar part of the frontline by Armenian Army and Azerbaijani side gave worthy response to that. However the issue was not sufficiently enlightened in mass media, especially newspapers. Some newspapers did not issue even a single word on the problem, while some others gave only short information about the incident. And some started to propogandize not to believe official information of Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense. Vahid Mustafayev, President of ANS Group of Companies shared his opinions with “Hesabat Mirshahinle” (Report together with Mirshahin) concerning this issue.

-First of all, we must clarify it for ourselves what happened. After all scandals, presidential elections in Armenia, the bloody regime - the regime of Robert Kocharyan decided to find an enemy from abroad to regulate the situation in his country. What could they consider the closest escape, what was the nearest one? Daqliq Qarabaq conflict… So they ordered their military units to start attacks against Azerbaijani military units. Doubtless, they knew that they will be given response fire. They did wanted to describe it as an attack from Azerbaijani side and to tell to Armenian people “you see, opposition parties create unstable situation in the country, whereas Azerbaijani side taking advantage of the situation start attacks in Qarabaq”.

Certainly, this is, first of all, a very ancient technology. Political figures are well aware of Robert Kocharyan’s semi-literacy. This technology was also used by other long-life dictators. However this time it brought no success. Why? The attack was prevented. The valiant Azerbaijani Army resisted attacks by Armenian side with great professionalism. Azerbaijani side thrusted against Armenian Army. We’ve got information about artillery fight. Armenian side gave much loss in spite of it. I have information as there started a great scandal around it.

-So you mean Azerbaijani soldiers acted as professionals those days. What about mass media, are you satisfied with the activity of mass media?

Several, I can say, many of heads of Azerbaijani mass media, as well as state organizations acting in related press centers are not aware of what war is. They simply neither saw any bullet, nor wounded in a war. So they have no information of what to do or how to act in such situations. As a result they started to make mistakes. For example, the newspapers complained as Ministry of Defense did not give them information. Why should Ministry of Defense give you information? Do you think it is Ministry of Culture or show-business? Ministry of Defense is not for giving information. To get information is a sole duty of journalists. Our reportes do not leave trenches, we receive information from intrenches. Ever it was so. From the first day of its estblishment ANS received information from intrenches beginning from Afghanistan till Balkan. We always gave our people information from intrenches.

-Last time, you were ANS anchor in Lebanon. You provided both ANS radio and TV with information. Were there problems concerning receiving informatiom?

-Yes. We had to get accredited there. Nobody got information from state structures. It was impossible to apply to Ministry of Defense there. So I met with Head of Interior Ministry, personally the minister himself and he gave interview. And by this I could get to a frontline and started to receive information from intrenches. However we meet with a strange situation today. People in warm work rooms are waiting for somebody to bring them hot information in a plate. This was not and will never be possible.

-Not all mass media were ready for the last situation. The situation was first enlightened by those, who knew what war means. We can say “525th newspaper”, “Yeni Musavat” and “Sharq” newspapers, which issued articles on the situation on the first page of their newspapers. We live in war situation now. We do not know any second reporter who saw war as much as you Azerbaijan. There are others as well. But they are not present now. Many of them are young journalists. What would you recommend for the journalists newly starting activity?

-They must behave as persons receiving the right information in any situation. They should go to the scenery if any event takes place. And they must give information about what they see themselves. Some reporters may say “we are not allowed to go…” I can say we are also not allowed. But we do. We do go and receive information. Ministries of defense and foreign affairs are also political organizations. That is why they must study attentively all information of these organizations.

However if any small official of the aforesaid ministries does not perform his duties timely and does not submnit any information to the camp of reporters, it does not mean that local newspapers must issue articles against Motherland, against our country due to that small official. I read one newspaper issued “our side informed 12 Armenian soldiers died in the fight, but I regard it strange… ”. Nobody can write this, if he is a patriot. To say the truth, I have information that more than 50 soldiers of the enemy were killed in the fight. And it was an artillery fight. The Armenian side received worthy artillery response for their attack. The artillery attack continued about an hour. I know what artillery fight is, I had participated in such fights… It’s difficult to stay alive in this type of fights.

-Today is 9th of March. 16 years elapse from the day of ANS passed state registration.

-I want to stress on this occasion that ANS employees as all Azerbaijani people are ready to fight against Armenian forces – the men occupied Azerbaijani lands as a result of aggression. We wait order by Commander-in-Chief to settle the conflict once and for ever. Let all Azerbaijani martyrs, including the last 4 heroes of the last fight rest in peace! Their families must be pride that their sons are Azerbaijani heroes. We have buried martyrs and we know what it means. Let all of them rest in peace!ans
