“Peaceful settlement of Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict, basing on international law norms and principles is carried out in the framework of OSCE Minsk Group. Though no significant results have been achieved yet, Azerbaijan is committed to the peace talks and continues its constructive efforts for the settlement of the conflict in the framework of Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity,” Azerbaijani ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to Russia Polad Bulbuloglu told APA exclusively.
The ambassador took a stance on the views of Armenian ambassador to Russia Armen Smbatyan, on the possibility of the next visit of intellectuals of the two countries to Nagorno Karabakh, Baku and Yerevan.
Polad Bulbuloglu noted that a group of intellectuals of the two countries visited the occupied Azerbaijani territories, Yerevan and Baku, on June 28, on the initiative of Azerbaijani and Armenian ambassadors in Russia to give impetus to the process of the conflict settlement.
“The visit had no political goals. It was the effort for restoring dialogue between Azerbaijani and Armenian communities of Nagorno Karabakh. I would like to note that the leading political forces of the world highly appreciated this visit. I think that the intellectuals’ meeting with presidents Ilham Aliyev and Robert Kocharian increased the importance of this visit and provided the conditions for expanding peace dialogue. In this respect, I do not rule out continuation of the visits in this format,” he said.
