The investigation into the so-called “Ergenekon” organization busted by police last week in Istanbul, with arrests taking place in various sites across Turkey, is continuing. Among the arrested were high profile lawyer Kerim Kerincsiz, who led campaigns against well known writers Orhan Pamuk and Hrant Dink, as well as various former military officials, including Veli Kucuk, and Muzaffer Tekin.

Questioning of the arrested figures is continuing, with statements made yesterday to police by Sevgi Erenerol, the spokeswoman for the Turkish Orthodox Patriarchate, who denied knowledge of incriminating documents found in her home by security officials.hurriyet
