The Assembly of Turkish American Associations (ATAA) in cooperation with its component association member, American Turkish Association of Washington, DC (ATA-DC), will host a lecture by Ankara University Professor Emeritus Turkkaya Ataov titled: “The Jewish Holocaust and Armenian-Turkish Relations”.

Dr. Ataov is Professor emeritus of International Relations and a former Director of the Department of International Relations at the University of Ankara, Turkey, where he has taught, researched and published for over four decades. He conducted his graduate studies in the United States, earning an M.A. in International Relations from Syracuse University, M.A. in Economics from NYU, and Ph.D. in Political Science from Maxwell Graduate School at Syracuse University. Professor Ataov has published over one hundred books and a few hundred scholarly articles.
Most recently, he published “Kashmir and Neighbours” (UK, Ashgate, 2001), “Discrimination and Conflict” (Geneva, Eaford, 2001), and “The Armenians in the Late Ottoman Period” (Ankara, Turkish Historical Society, 2002). Professor Ataov received presidential medals from Italy, Federal Yugoslavia, and Hungary, as well as medals of honor from the Macedonian Historical Research Center, Russian Academy of Sciences, Bophuthatswana University (South Africa), the Turkish Grand National Assembly (Turkey), and the Golden Honorary Medal of the International Progress Organization (2005). He is member of the Executive Council of the International Organization for the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination (Geneva).
